Landscape Architect

Put your natural skills to work by helping build eda‘s Landscape Architecture department in Gainesville, FL. This is a full-time position overseeing the design and production of all landscape plan drawings and related construction documents, permit materials, and presentation graphics.  The person in this role interfaces directly with clients and the public and should be prepared to represent eda confidently and intelligently by displaying familiarity with local codes and requirements. eda is a place for people willing to work in a collaborative environment, serve private and public clients, and be a team player when called to a task.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture, 5 years of (preferably local/regional) experience in landscape design and permitting, licensure as a Landscape Architect in the State of Florida, stellar communication skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).

Required education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture

Landscape Designer

eda consultants, inc. is in search of a full-time Landscape Designer for its office in Gainesville, FL. Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture with 1-3 years of experience in landscape design & relevant design programs and have excellent writing and organizational skills.

eda is a place for people willing to work in a collaborative environment, serving private and public clients, and being a team player when called to a task.  This position will assist in the design and production of all landscape plan drawings and related construction documents, permit materials, and presentation graphics.  This individual should possess a variety of artistic skills with both hand-drawn graphics as well as digital rendering skills.

Preferred candidates will also have local experience in the field of landscape architecture, be proficient in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.

Civil 3D Designer

eda is hiring experienced AutoCAD/Civil 3D Designers for our Gainesville, Florida office. Our production team at our growing civil engineering practice needs enthusiastic drafters willing to jump in and contribute. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, able to work with minimal direction on multiple projects at once, and considers themselves a CAD expert.

Candidates should be experienced in the design of stormwater systems, roadways, parking lots, utility infrastructure, and subdivisions. They should know how to perform civil 3D modeling of tin surfaces and pipe networks, and be familiar with relevant industry standards, methods, and practices. Experience in the civil engineering field is preferred, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is required. Prospective candidates will complete a short exercise to demonstrate their level of software ability.

Urban Planner

eda consultants, inc. is in search of an Urban Planner for its office in Gainesville, FL. Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning and at least two years of experience in urban planning with government agencies or private development. The ideal candidate has experience with zoning codes, comprehensive plans, land use analysis and community engagement. AICP certification is a plus.

Applicant should be detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills, be familiar with codes and requirements, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Preferred candidates will also have experience with GIS and various graphic design software packages.

Engineering Designer

eda consultants, inc. is in search of a full-time Project Designer for its office in Gainesville, FL.  Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and either an EI certificate or PE certificate.

This position deals with site planning, stormwater analysis and design and use of AutoCAD.  Applicant should be detail oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.  Responsibilities will include preparing designs and reports, and project analysis.  Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.

Required education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

Required license or certification: EI or greater

Survey Field Crew Personnel

eda consultants, inc. is in search of full-time survey field crew personnel for its office in Gainesville, FL. Qualified candidates should have experience in land surveying, a valid Florida driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

This position requires the applicant to have the ability to read and understand construction drawings, the ability to perform calculations for construction stakeout, perform boundary, topographic and tree surveys, accomplished at taking field notes, and is responsible for the survey vehicle and the day to day care of survey equipment.

Survey Crew Party Chief

eda consultants, inc. is looking to hire an experienced and motivated individual as party chief.  The person in this position will supervise a field crew in the use of total stations while performing construction staking, boundary and topographic surveys.

The individual must be experienced in keeping accurate and legible field notes; have the ability to interpret plans, maps, land descriptions and other related survey documents; and be able to perform calculations in the field.  The ability to use AutoCAD to perform calculations and/or as-built drawings is a plus.

Individual must have at least 3 years of experience as a party chief, an excellent driving record and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Professional Surveyor & Mapper

eda consultants inc. is seeking a Professional Surveyor & Mapper. The person in this role will be responsible for survey projects from beginning to end and expected to positively contribute to the survey department’s and eda’s quality standards, project budgets and project timelines.

The ideal candidate would have experience and excel at the preparation of surveying proposals & developing scopes, the successful production of survey products, the supervision of CAD Techs and Field Personnel, performing CAD duties, performing field duties, quality control, and client communication.

At eda you would be expected to be successful on many different projects while providing multiple survey products, such as Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Subdivision Plats, As-Built Surveys, and Construction Staking. FDOT experience is a plus.

Managing a project and the people associated with it requires stellar problem-solving, judgement, organization, and interpersonal skills. This individual will be responsible, motivated, a team player, and detail-oriented.
