About eda

eda began in 1972 as a land surveying firm with four employees and was incorporated in 1976. With over 45years of service to the community, eda is the oldest firm operating in Alachua County that provides engineering, surveying and planning services to its clients. Over the past four decades, eda has experienced continued growth and success and maintains a prominent role in the growth and development of North Central Florida.

Below is the eda management team, who include experienced and dedicated professionals who oversee all elements of the civil engineering, land surveying and urban planning services that we proudly provide to our clients on a daily basis.

Sergio Reyes, PE

President

Sergio Reyes is the President of eda consultants, inc. in Gainesville and has nearly 40 years of experience working as a professional engineer, 28 of those in Florida. He has worked both for the public and private sector providing solutions to their development needs from small office buildings and restaurants to large subdivisions and large retail centers. Reyes is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

Clay Sweger, AICP, LEED AP

Director of Planning

Clay Sweger is the Director of Planning at eda consultants, inc. in Gainesville and has nearly two decades of experience working as an urban planner in Florida.  His educational training, professional certification, and prior experience as a planner for Alachua County Growth Management give him a broad range of abilities in the field of urban planning. Mr. Sweger is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).

Claudia Vega, PE

Director of Engineering

Claudia Vega is the Director of Engineering at eda consultants, inc. in Gainesville and has over twenty years of experience working as a professional engineer in Florida. She has worked both for the public and private sector providing accurate and efficient service for development projects throughout North Central Florida. Claudia has experience managing large-scale projects during her time working at eda, including the Gainesville Renewable Energy Center and multiple projects at the North Florida Regional Medical Center and the University of Florida.

Stephanie Sutton

Director of Operations

Stephanie Sutton serves as eda’s Director of Operations, overseeing all Engineering, Planning, and Surveying Projects at eda. She has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biological Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Florida. Sutton is a member of the American Planning Association and has served on the City of Gainesville Plan Board for over 10 years.

Jared Rogers, PSM

Director of Surveying

Jared Rogers is the Director of Surveying at eda consultants, inc. Rogers has been a leader in the surveying and mapping industry in Florida for over 16 years and has experience in many different aspects of surveying including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, elevation certificates, subdivision platting, construction layout and drafting legal descriptions. Rogers attended the University of Florida and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Geomatics from the College of Engineering and is a licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM). He is a member of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society (FSMS), the Builders Association of North Central Florida (BANCF), and the Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors (GACAR).

Tim Rockwell

Production Manager

Tim Rockwell has a degree in Construction Management from Santa Fe Community College and 27 years of experience in Civil Engineering, site design and construction plan production.  He currently serves on the Alachua County Local Planning Agency and Zoning Commission and is Vice Chair of the Alachua County Affordable Housing Committee. Rockwell is also a certified Storm Water Erosion Control and Maintenance Inspector.
