eda staff has decades of experience serving the Gainesville Regional Airport. Our staff has been involved with many airport projects, providing design and permitting or providing support to prime consultants. Airport projects must comply with specific requirements, and eda is familiar with this unique process. A multitude of development projects have relied on eda‘s expertise, including the below:

  • Terminal Expansion | Completed: 2020
    eda provided civil engineering, surveying, and permitting services in support of a 15,200 square foot terminal expansion to the Gainesville Regional Airport. The eda surveying team provided 24±acres of detailed topographic survey in support of engineering design, including location of all traceable underground utilities within the project site. This included water main and force main extensions as well as lift station improvements. eda surveyors also provided construction stakeout services and a final as-built of the building and stormwater system.
  • Taxiway Alpha & Taxiway Echo | Completed: 2022
    eda completed a Topographic Survey at the Gainesville Regional Airport to support engineering design of multiple taxiways and airport facilities. The survey included over 5,000 feet of Taxiway Alpha, portions of Taxiway Echo, portions of Runway 11-29, portions of Runway 7-25, Taxiway Delta, portions of Taxiway Charlie, along with Taxiways Echo-1, Echo-2, Echo-3, Echo-4, & Echo-5.
  • Runway 7/25 Rehabilitation | Completed: 2015
    This project included the rehabilitation of the secondary runway (Runway 7/25) at the Gainesville Regional Airport (KGNV) and was the FDOT State Project of the Year. Work performed by eda included construction surveying services, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and roadway cross sections & profiles.
  • Access Road | Completed: 2014
    eda provided GACRAA with civil engineering or the design of a new 3,200 foot access road from Waldo Road to the main terminal. eda permitted the project with the City of Gainesville, Gainesville Regional Utilities, and the St. Johns River Water Management District. eda engineers also prepared and submitted final construction plans for the stormwater system and provided bidding & construction services. eda surveyors provided underground utility locations, mapping services, and the preparation of a topographic survey which included wetlands locations.
  • Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting Building
    Completed: 2017
    The ARFF at Gainesville Regional Airport is an 8,700 square foot building with associated utility and stormwater improvements. eda engineers designed and permitted the stormwater system for the project and facilitated the City & GRU permitting process. eda surveyors provided topographic surveys with underground utility locations and VVH’s as well as as-built surveys for this project.
