eda consultants, inc wins FDOT Prequalification

[Gainesville, FL, June 30, 2020] Florida Law requires contractors to be prequalified with the Florida Department of Transportation in order to bid as a prime contractor on FDOT contracts. eda consultants inc. achieved this FDOT prequalification status for Group 8- Survey & Mapping services on June 23, 2020.

This FDOT prequalification for survey services is in addition to eda’s existing Group 13 Land Planning prequalification, awarded in April of this year. In reviewing Requests for Qualification Packages, FDOT considers many facets of a firm’s competency, including experience and training of personnel, past performance on contracts, and integrity & responsibility. eda joins a group of other FDOT prequalified surveying firms in the State of Florida.

“This is an achievement that has been in the works for quite some time, and we are proud of our accomplished survey department for meeting these rigorous qualifications,” says eda’s President, Sergio Reyes, PE. “This will open the door to more opportunities for contract awards throughout the state, and we are prepared to take on that additional workload.”

eda is a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) through the Florida Unified Certification Program/FDOT and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with the State of Florida, and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) through Alachua County & City of Gainesville. eda has provided professional Civil Engineering, Planning, and Land Surveying services throughout Florida for over 40 years and offers a full range of land development services under one roof to a wide variety of public and private sector clients.
